Today was spent once more over Ali's house taking photos, this time just for her shop. We have really been putting a lot of effort into both of ours lately, although Ali has been succeeding for a while. Selling prints and vintage has been her only source of income for probably over a year now, and she does quite well! We are both in the proccess of saving up so we can try and move off this Island by the end of the year. So stop by my shop as well to add to the "Move Emily Off Long Island" fund, and get cute vintage in return!

This dress I got from Anja over at Clever Nettle last year. It's one of my favorite dresses! It's so comfortable and cute.. I can just throw it on easy but know I'm lookin' good!

So here I am in Ali's room! Today I had the day off, thanks to no jury duty! So I planed a full day with Ali for taking photos for our shops again and just hanging out. I didn't realize how much I had collected in the last few weeks for the shop until I had to drag it all out of my closet and over to Ali's. Soooo many cute things coming to the shop, I'll post a little preview later of whats to come. Possibly the greatest vintage ever in Golden Fur Vintage!

This blouse I got last year on my trip to the Brimfield Antique Fair, one of my favorite finds. I really love the cut and the fabric is just amazing, really great colors. The suede skirt was Ali's, the tights are from Gap and my trusty Jeffery Campbell's.

This is what I wore to gradn jury duty today.. I don't know what I was thinking really.. not sure what you wear to those types of things. I just know I wanted to look like I didn't belong there. Like I was some kind of degenerate hippie who could give a hoot about jury duty. But as you can see from all my activity on my blog today, I was out of there before 11 am, I wasn't chosen in the lottery and so I got to go home! So what I thought was going to be a month of being broke and having no time on the weekdays to do anything has just totally turned around and I could not be happier! Don't have to worry about being chosen for it for another 6 years too!

This dress I thrifted the other day, my second really lucky day at the salvation army in a week! Found one vintage dress right after another, all cute 60s mini dresses. And they are all going into the shop as soon as I get some photos of them, including this one! This one is the shortest of the bunch, but I really love the colors. This faux fur coat I thrifted a few years ago, it's mt favorite!

revamp

Yesterday with the help of my best gal Ali I got photos of pretty much all the inventory in my shop on me, so you can see just how cute these babies are. Some of these have been in the shop for over a year, and I think it's cause sometimes photos of the garment on the hanger just doesn't do it justice! Oh, and I didn't get a tattoo of an owl, hah. It's just a temporary my friend gave me the other day. Cute, huh?

These photos are of yesterday's outfit, taken in Ali's lovely bedroom! I went over there yesterday to have her help me with some photos from my shop. I have a lot of items that aren't pictured on the body and you really cant tell just how cute they are. So all the inventory in my shop will now have photos of it on me! Although it may take a few days before I can get all that change going, today I start Grand Jury Duty, 5 days a week from 9 to 5 for four weeks or more! UG! I think it will be kind of cool, but I have to drive kind of far to get the the courts.. and 5 days a week?!?! Things may get a little slow around here, but I'm gonna try to get my outfit photo every day after court so I at least have that. I'v decided today to wear a little 60s mini dress and my Jeffery Campbell shoes, maybe I can scare the people off, make them think I'm weird and I don't fit it at jury duty ;)

This cute little denim top I just thrifted on Saturday.. I am so in love with it! I can't wait to wear i durring the summer as a little cropped top. I didn't think it would fit me at first so I was glad to see it did. The black dress is also thrifted from a long time ago, the tights are from h&m and you all know the shoes ;)

that 70s show

So as I mentioned on here before, I have been watching That 70s Show like mad recently! All the seasons are on instant watch on Netflix, which my boyfriend has hooked up to his xbox so its easy to watch on the tv. The episodes are only 22 minuets long, so I'v been blowing through them on my downtime, when I'm browsing the net and such. I'm currently halfway through the third season now, and my favorite character by far has to be Laurie Forman if only for her wardrobe! Well I think that is the only reason why I love her, cause as the rest of the cast says, shes a whore ;)

But common! She has the best high waisted jeans and THE BEST platforms all the time! So this outfit was totally inspired by her, except if I was really staying true to her character, I would be wearing some kind of extra small short sleeve sweater and no bra! She also has the best feathered hair.. anyone know how to go about doing that? Cause I love it, would wear it every day.

Yesterday I had the day off and accidentally went to forever 21 and bought this whole outfit! Woops! I really never shop at stores, never really go to the mall.. but I went yesterday with plans to go to JCpenny to check out the Olsenboye collection.. which turned out to be LAME! And then forever 21 was right there.. so I just popped in! I came across these pants and I could not resist, they arent a jean material.. more like jeggings, but a little more on the jean side, ha! but they are soft and had a cute flare to them. Actually a size too big, but i just took them in a bit when I got home. I got this top too, I love the shape of it, and purple I just keep coming back to you! This I altered also, it had another teir of fabric to it.. but i prefer tops cropped, so I just cut it right off! That leads me to these sandals! Forevs has some super cute shoes right now.. not the best craftsmanship and kind of cheap material, but they are all under $30 bucks so.. whatever! It was between these and another pair with more of a platform, but in the end I chose these cause I dont have anything like thm, and I figured with the smaller heel I would wear them more often. Sooo, yea!

Thanks to all the wonderful ladies who have been leaving the sweetest comments recently! I know I don't really respond to any, blogspot doesn't have the best comment section that lets me do that. But I do appreciate all the kind words. I'm glad I can inspire you guys, I follow a good deal of you too and I can say, I'm just as inspired.

Sorry I went a bit overboard on the photos here, the weather turned out to be so nice today and I was really digging the way these photos were coming out in the sunlight. I woke up this morning to snow on the ground! Not too too much, but a small coating over the trees and grass. But by like noon it was pretty much all melted thank god! I'm super ready for spring, down with snow!
I went to Palmer, MA this weekend to visit some friends and go to what I thought was going to be some kind of Neutral Milk Hotel band collective thing, but turns out it was a bit different than I thought. It was Elephant 6, which is the collective where Neutral Milk Hotel stems from, some of the band members were there.. but no NMH was played ;( I was pretty bummed, really wanted to sing along to some of my favorites, but it was still a cool show. Also any excuse to go see Chris and Courtney is great!
I'm wearing two things here that I got up there this weekend at an indoor flea market, first off this hat! Recently I have been on the hunt for more hats, something with a brim but not too big, more like this! And it was only like $6 then 30% off! I wore it all weekend and I'm still wearing it all over! This white blouse I also got there, I also got two other really pretty white vintage blouses.. but then I got home and tried them on and .. oops! I love them all! I think I will sell maybe one or two eventually, but for now I'm gonna see if I can get a wear or two out of them before passing them on.
The skort, belt, tights and brown shoes are all thrifted, oh and the bag as well. I have never been a huge colored tights gal, but recently the pop of color has been drawing my attention. These ones I think I got for like 50 cents at the salvo a while ago and this is my first time wearing them. My favorite colors right now: forest green, purple, navy blue and sea foam green, like my nails!
