without wheels

On Wednesday night around 6:30 I got into a car accident. Luckily it wasn't really bad and no one was really hurt. Well I hurt my arm but ill get into that in a minuet. I was driving, the only one in my car, it was really stupid actually. Its embarrassing to tell because it involves Burger King. Now listen, I aint no Fast Food kind of person. I used to eat the junk a lot more, but i eat very healthy now almost vegan actually since I spend a lot of time with my friend Jeremy, who is vegan. Anywho, I was on my way to his house actually, but stopped at BK on the way, to get some chicken fries. I was starving and didn't want to go to Jeremy's place and eat more of his food.
So I get my food from the drive through window and go to pull out of the parking lot. There is a traffic light at the next block to the right and all the cars in the eastbound lane in front of me are stopped at it, and the cars left a gap for me to make my left hand turn into a pretty busy street. I go through, I see the other lane that im going to be turning into is clear, then I look and I hear a horn and see headlights and we hit.
As I was crossing over the middle turning lane that runs up an down the road, a woman was getting into it from the lane of stopped cars at the light. My front driver light hits the same on her car. My airbags went off. It was all quite quick actually. And pretty crazy. I have never been in a car accident before this, and those airbags gong off was crazy, Before I knew it they were already deflating and the car was filled with this powder that comes out when your airbags deploy. It was making me cough big time and I had to open the door.
All I remember doing right away was saying "oh shit oh shit!" I couldn't believe it. It really sucked. We could have just missed each other cause it was so far to the left on both of our cars. Bad timing too, I had warm food I had to eat! There was a man who stopped, his name was Kenny, I think he said he was an off duty fire fighter or something, He was something off duty, and very nice and helpful. He called the cops for us, told us both to stay in our cars. Honestly, I didn't even interact with the other woman at all. All I know is that she was an older woman named April, with a handicap thing hanging from her mirror. We both refused an ambulance, thank god. I knew I was okay, but I wanted to be sure she was as well. I don't really know whose fault the accident was, since we couldn't really see each other till we hit. Well, I couldn't see her. I don't really know what she could see.
These are the damages:

As you can see, I was wearing lipstick when this happened. Lipstick all over the airbag.

I called my mom, she came down,I filled out a police report, A tow truck came and took my car away. Now I am without a car, which really sucks. The damage wasn't too too bad, but since the airbags deployed, and it would cost more to get the damages fixed than the car is worth ( its a gold 98 Nissan Maxima) its considered totaled.
So now I am experiencing some sort of shoulder pain. When the airbag went off it hit me in the face, and my jaw hurts because of that. I cant really open it all the way, but thats starting to feel a bit better. The real problem is mr shoulder. I have some bruising my the top of my left hand and wrist, and the shoulder of the same arm is really messed up. I went to get an x-ray today, they said there is no real problem they can see, but I cant really use the arm. Typing, like i'm doing right now doesn't hurt, but lifting anything, even just to lift the arm its self hurts. Hopefully that will go away soon. In the mean time I may get a sling to wear so I don't move it around too much.
Now I just need to clean out my car, which is sitting my in drive way, and sell it for junk. And get a new car. Oy, this really sets me back. Another new years resolution of mine was to save up so I can eventually move out my my parents house this year. But now I have to save up to get a new car, which is funny because I would like to move somewhere where I wouldn't need a car anyways. Oh life, why do you do these things to me?!
And this is my x-ray. As you can see , nothing is wrong at all! Well I don't really know how to tell that. But I love x-rays. Seeing my ribs and skinny little arm. So silly!

The Story of O

Photobucket

My Friend Ali has a subscription to Netflix, and she is such a dear friend that she is letting me login and use it whenever I want! So of corse I have been taking full advantage of this privilege and browsing through the instant watch movies whenever I get a free chance.
Last week I even stayed up pretty late to watch a film, then woke up around 7am (i'm and early riser usually) watched ANOTHER movie, then fell back asleep. Only to wake up an hour and 20 minuets late for work!! so it has become a small problem, but not bad enough to stop.
Two nights ago I started this film "The Story of O" ... which for some reason i cant seem to find on IMDB.com but it's from the 70's one of my favorite eras and all about sexual awakening. It was a little strange and definitely stems from the swinging taking place during that time, and is all about this woman, who only goes by her first initial O. I wont get too into detail since the movie has a lot of nudity and is a little vulgar, so you can watch it if you are interested further.
What I wanted to get as was how much i love that time, and what was considered to be beautiful in a woman. And since this movie was practically like a porn, the female body played a huge part. the woman were all relatively small breasted, full "bushed" if you will, and just so natural looking. This editorial I found today "Morning Beauty" reminded me of just all this, and that movie.

tuesday

Photobucket

Today has been a pretty lazy day. I work at the grocery store Trader joe's, you may know it. We sell a lot of organics, private labeled things. Its a really great place to shop. But anyways, I work mornings a lot, and then i have the rest of the day. A nap is usually called for like I did today.
I;m sure by now most blog readers know about the weardrobe 100, absolutely amazing! all the blogs I read are on it, along with so many more I never even knew about. I have spend a great deal of the day going through it and checking out every blog. I'm always on the look out for a new blog to read, and this was almost too good to be true.
This past year especially was the year of the blogger, no matter what you were blogging about, it was deemed THE way to get the word out. And in the world of fashion, it lets you get your word out fast, and in a scene where things change so quickly, it was the prefect fit.
And personally, it's a great inspiration since i am just starting up my blog at the start of the new year, I can only hope to be featured next year, but it just give me that little extra push to really turn this blog into something.

Perennial Clothing

Today has been a really nice day so far. My best friend Ali slept over last night, which we haven't done in a while. We ate food, talked, watched movies. It was just a nice relaxing night.
Today we made breakfast, well I made breakfast since im a bit of an early riser, and Ali is more of a late sleeper. So I made breakfast before she woke and had it all ready for her.

We made a trip to this AMAZING vintage shop called Pernennial Clothing. Its run by this amazing woman Linda, who says she has a house full of more clothing. She has been collecting for years, had the shop for about four. The place has a great atmosphere. tea is ready for you when you come in, take off your coats and hats and make yourself comfortable. the perfect little place! I had been there before but it was Alis just visit, and let me tell you, she was in heaven!

making dinner

These photos are from last week, I made dinner with my friends Jeremy, Ali, and Steven. Well Jeremy did a lot of the cooking, he is really good at it, he is also vegan so this was a vegan meal we had. It was Spaghetti squash with our first attempt at making pesto, which turned out amazing by the way. Then we have so e toasted baguette with baked tempeh (which is a sort of caked together bar of grains and soy, very delish) in a mushroom sauce that Jeremy made.
Sorry for the blurry shot of everybody, poor lighting, no flash, and a splash too much wine doesn't result in great photos. But we had a nice time.

getting started on a resolution

Photobucket
I have many new years resolutions this year, more than maybe I have had before, but I am very determined to keep them and really change things about myself that I think need improving.
One of them is to wear more lipstick. I never do, I don't think it looks quite right on me most of the time. I have tried the bright red pout like many, but I just felt it didn't look natural on me.
Yesterday i went to Target (has to be one of my favorite store ever) and picked up 2 tubes of lipstick from Revlon. Its a matte lipstick which i really like, i hate the shimmer and shine thats put into many lipsticks, and I think is one of the reasons I don't usually go for a colored lip. Matte lipsticks I also feel last longer. They dry sort of, staining the lip and making wearing it easy. Or make it not rub off which makes it easy to wear.
I got 2 colors, Wine Not and Pink About It. I absolutely love the dark plum red of Wine Not. I wore it all day yesterday, so I haven't even gotten to try out my pink color, but I kind of wanted to save that for spring anyway.
And heres Wine Not on me!

day one

So I have once again decided to start a blog. Well not start, more like take the one I already had, delete all the posts I made and start fresh. I really wouldn't call my first attempt an attempt at all. I made a few posts, but nothing of any real significance. My old laptop breaking was probably also a good reason why it never really got off the ground. But i now finally have a macbook pro, which is waaaay better than the toshiba pc I used to own, so no excuses!
So what will this blog be about..its defiantly a fashion blog. I went to school for fashion design, finished december of last year. But my interests have always been more towards styling.
It will be a life style blog i suppose. I'll post about myself, ad outfit posts which I used to take regularly, but that also went out the window with the blog. Basically 2010 is going to be a year of re-growth for me. Hopefully I will get a few readers who will watch and read as a type my little heart out onto this page.
ALSO I have an etsy, nothing is up on it yet, but soon i will be selling some things from my now quite large vintage collection. So I hope you all enjoy!
