tumbled

so iv finally made a tumblr. well i started one a couple of months ago, but strictly for the purpose of following others. it all seemed a bit too confusing for me at first and honestly, i didnt see the point? i dont know man, but recently ali showed me how easy it is now, and this really helpful little tab that stays right where my bookmarks bar is that i can click to tumbl any photo on any website im currently on! very cool.
so now iv started and its pretty addicting i have to say! i totally understand the crazy now. so follow me if you want, or dont, but either way im gonna keep on rebloging and liking the shit out of everyone elses!

cold season

so last night ali and i got our "free" piercing for 20 cans of food for a food drive that tattoo lou's is holding. it was really fun getting my nose pierced again, and especially fun because ali was there getting one with me. theres nothing that brings two girlfriends together better than putting a third hole in your nose!
ali went for a septum, which i have to say i was a bit against at first, shes so pretty and i didnt want to to take away from that beautiful face. but actually i think it fits her face quite well. it dosent hang too low and it flips right up if she dosent want to show it! i held her hand when it was her turn, it was sweet.
then we came back to my place and celebrated with some blueberry beer. such brave women we are, getting metal through our noses just in time for cold season!

blue dream

so for some reason my camera thinks its a good idea to shoot natural day light in this blue hue. i dont know how it happend.. but i suppose its broken. happend a few weekends ago., one night it was working the next morning it was like this. but indoor light looks normal. good thing i got the 2 year warranty! i dont know, but it forces me to play with the colors, and i actually kind of like the way it looks when i just turn up the orange a bit. so maybe i wont bother getting it fixed, ha.
today im going to my cousins daughters baptism party, just the party part of it. i really cant stand to sit in another church again for some ceremony i dont believe in. but im happy to be around my family and support them in whatever they believe in. then later im going to get my free piercing from tattoo lou's! and i think iv decided on the nose piercing. for a couple of reasons.. its just really been on my mind recently and i think i should do it or ill regret it. also since its free, if i hate it and want to take it out, at least i didnt waste $50! damn i am cheap sometimes!
iv had it done before, and it hurts a bit. makes your eyes tear uncontrollably, hits a nerve or something. so wish me luck!

an outfit post!

i really want to start doing these more. i always mean to and want to, but i just dont really have someone to do it for me. i have a tripod, but i would really like a remote before i try and attempt that all the time. i also dont have a great spot to take photos. no good natural light indoors unless its 3:30 pm (right now) and your in the bedroom..which is a mess right now. plus, a lot of the days where i really do get dressed (most days im working at trader joes and wear a tee and jeans) im going into brooklyn for my internship and dont really have the time to get a shot of myself.
im really just making up excuses! i need to put more work into this stuff. i really am a lazy person.. sorry!
today is a saturday and that means both my boyfriend and i are off from work! we spent the morning catching up on the office and 30 rock from this week. then went out to the bank, lowes to buy some house plants and boy did we luck out! they have a great selection, with pretty good prices. and they had 75% off succulents, includding the succulent garden i got for ONLY $3.99!!! and a nice hanging plant too. we also stopped to get 10 cans of canned food so i can trade it for a free piercing tomorrow at tattoo lous!! just found out about this great offer from ali yesterday and im totally gonna do it. im thinking of getting my nose repiered, this time with a ring ala abby lee kershaw or something on my ear. like some weird part with a weird name.
so what do you all think? nose or ear? im still on the fence! i only really wanna get my nose done if they can do it with a small ring with a small gauge. i guess we will see!!

gallery hopping

last night i went to the city with ali and her mother. we were going in to stop at a bunch of galeries showing color photography for a class ali is taking. they could be any gallery, but she chose some ones that were at least in the area of out interests. they we mostly in big tall old buildings in the 5th ave to lexington area up in the 50's, so there was a whole lot of expensive people doing expensive shopping going on. we were walking around like toursits with a paper out with adresses on it, getting mixed up in our directions (im used to being on the west side, so numbers going in from west to east really mixed me up!)
we stopped in miu miu where we left like paupers compared to the people who were there actually intending to buy something! the room of shoes was TO DIE FOR. i would have snapped photos had i not felt so out of place being there.
we stopped at the MOMA as well (free on friday after 4pm just so ya know!) where i snapped these lone shots of this great photographer named alex prager. and then we made out way downtown to go to this place evolution that i have passed a million times and wanted to go in first with ali because i new she would just love it!
then we ate at bubby's! my first time there and deff not the last! great fresh food, a lot of home made too. even the soda! we stuffed our faces and took photos in the film strip photo booth in the basement. great fun night. and amazing mild weather too!

amanda henderson

a few months ago when it was stil summer, the end of august i think, i woke up very early one morning to meet some friends on the north shore of the island for a photo shoot. everyone i was meeting i went to FIT with, two i dormed with, and so it was a nice reunion. my friend amanda henderson had some knit pieces she wanted to get great shots of, and asked me if i would be interested.
she does amazing things with hand beading and felting, its like a galaxy! so so great. amazing to see close up, and veyr heavy to wear! that coat was an interesting thing to run around nature in! it was a great time shooting, it was a beautiful day. you can read a great interview with amanda here.
