Natalie Kucken for Ballad Of

Photobucket

I have been entranced lately with the work of Natalie Kucken and these photos of hers for Ballad Of magazine just take the cake. I think we can all get behind the idea of a bunch of young beauties in glitter and pretty dresses, an esthetic that is quite popular in fashion and style culture ever since The Virgin Suicide stole our hearts. It may be a look that is over done at times, but this set really blows me away. They are just the right amount of strange and sad that really takes these from fashion editorial to cinematic beauty. Most of these photos look like stills from a film to me, and the the way they are ever so slightly out of focus make you really want to take them in for just a few moments longer. They look like real moments in time, the next one more beautiful than the last. I implore you to check out more of her work in her portfolio, as well as her blog where you can see monthly photo diary posts where her everyday candid shots can invoke the same sort of dreamy feelings.
